Episode 240 - Sahara

Welcome back to Not A Bomb! This is the podcast where we explore some of cinema’s biggest box failures and decide if they deserve a second chance.

Alright, alright, alright – the McConaughthon rolls on with Sahara, the infamous 2005 action-adventure flick that went down as one of the biggest box-office disasters in history. Plagued by a chaotic production and some highly dubious accounting, this film saw its budget balloon out of control before limping into theaters with barely a whisper of hype. Troy and Brad dive headfirst into this ambitious mashup of Indiana Jones and James Bond, exploring whether it earned its reputation as one of Hollywood’s most legendary flops.

Sahara is directed by Breck Eisner and stars Matthew McConaughey, Steve Zahn, Penelope Cruz, Lambert Wilson, Glynn Turman, Rainn Wilson, Delroy Lindo, and William H. Macy.
