Episode 156 - Grindhouse (3 Year Anniversary Show)
On this very special episode of Not A Bomb, the gang celebrates their three-year anniversary with a show dedicated to all thing’s grindhouse cinema. To cap it off, the guys dive deep into 2007’s epic theatrical bomb - Grindhouse. We couldn’t celebrate this anniversary without some help. So, we asked Sammy, “The Godfather of Grindhouse,” to join us and puts his knowledge on display.
Released as an over three-hour experience, Grindhouse featured two full length films - Planet Terror and Death Proof from Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino. Also, various other directors contributed fake movie trailers to capture the traditional grindhouse theatrical experience. Sadly, this unique film experience flopped at the box office and prevented audiences from getting another experiment like Grindhouse for a long time.
Before the timestamps, we have one last note. We at Not A Bomb thank you for your support over the past three years! This community is fantastic and we look forward to exploring more epic movie bombs with all of you.

Episode 139 - Tango and Cash
Welcome back to Not A Bomb! It’s February, and love is in the air. This month, the guys are diving into some of the biggest “bromance” bombs of all time. This week on the show, Troy and Brad are back in 80’s action territory with 1989’s action comedy - Tango & Cash. Marred by production troubles, director exits, and critical hate; Tango & Cash borrows from many of the 1980’s action tropes to construct a film worthy of induction into the Action Hall of Fame. You also won’t find a better comedic shower sequence between two of the biggest action icons in film history. Sly and Kurt are a great way to kick off the Valentine…sorry…”bromance” season!
Timestamps: Intro - (1:22), Box Office Results and Critical Response - (6:50), Behind the Camera - (13:30), In Front of Camera - (20:12), Production and Development - (36:53), Commercial Break - (45:21), Tango and Cash Discussion - (47:24), Is it a Bomb? - (83:54), Listener Feedback - (84:02), Outro - (101:32)
Tango & Cash is directed by Andrei Konchalovsky and stars Sylester Stallone, Kurt Russell, Jack Palance, Teri Hatcher, Michael J. Pollack, Brion James, James Hong, Robert Z’Dar, Clint Howard, Geoffery Lewis and Michael Jeter.
