Episode 10 - Streets of Fire
Hey Bombers, welcome back to a new episode of Not A Bomb. This week Troy and Brad are graciously joined, once again, by Bret Saxton to discuss the 1984 Rock & Roll Fable - Streets of Fire. The film mixes various movie genres into a “hybridization” of neo-noir, western, action, and, musical elements. Released along side classic films like Karate Kid, Ghostbusters, Germlins, and Star Trek III, Streets of Fire found itself disappearing out of theaters with little fanfare. Now, 36 years later, Not A Bomb is examining why this movie struggled to find an audience.
Find out what Meatloaf, Street Fighter, Moonwalker, Bryan Adams, Michael Pare autographs, Purple Rain, Beastie Boys, and Jimmy Iovine all have in common on this exciting episode of NOT A BOMB!
Streets of Fire is directed by Walter Hill and stars; Michael Pare, Diane Lane, Rick Moranis, Amy Madigan, E.G. Daly, Willem Dafoe and Deborah Van Valkenburgh.
